Every GP Practice is required to declare information relating to the mean net earnings of the GPs who have worked at the surgery for at least 6 months.
NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
The mean earnings for GPs working in The Family Surgery in the financial year ended 31st March 2025 was £46,898 before deduction of employee's superannuation contributions, tax and National Insurance. This is the average pay for 1 full-time GP, 4 part time GPs and 1 locum GP who worked in the practice for more than 6 months during that
year.
More information about this requirement can be found in the General Medical Services contract section 16.8A. Publication of earnings information
